They call them burial chambers claiming they were built for the dead pharaohs BUT where are the bodies? I’m referring to the pyramids of Giza and not one dead body has been found in them. We find many dead bodies in the Valley of Kings where many pharaohs are entombed and we find a galore of hieroglyphics adorning the walls but we don’t find such artistic decor in the pyramids. No bodies and no hieroglyphics! In fact, the inside of the pyramids are rather……BORING and DULL, frankly!
In the Great Pyramid a new chamber was discovered last year above the Grand Gallery that is believed to be near the same size as the Grand Gallery. This is the first major discovery in the pyramids since the 19th century and it has astounded many scholars and Egyptologists. The purpose and function of the new chamber is unclear.
Experts believe that the pyramid builders placed cavities inside the pyramids to relieve stress on the giant structures and, thus, avoid collapsing them under the weight of the massive stones used in their construction. Researchers discovered the new chamber using cosmic-ray imaging similar to X-rays but going deeper.
The Great Pyramid is also known as Khufu’s Pyramid who is believed to have ordered its construction. He ruled Egypt from 2509-2483 BC. However, Khufu’s corpse has never been found inside the pyramid. So if the pyramids at Giza were not burial chambers then what were they?
Some scholars think that these pyramids may have been power generators possibly producing hydrogen or even electricity! And some believe these structures are far older than we think and Egyptian civilization being far older than we think also. Some have even suggested that they had something to do with extraterrestrials!
Myself I tend to believe that the Giza pyramids were NOT burial chambers at all and may well have been some sort of generators for some sort of energy. Power plants! We know causeways were built from the Nile River to the pyramid complex and erosion patterns appear to show water erosion although some researchers believe the erosion was caused by wind. Keep in mind that the pyramids we see at Giza today were NOT the pyramids that the world saw 4 kya! These structures were once very smooth and shiny! They were covered in polished white limestone capped with capstones made of granite or diorite coated with precious metal like gold or electrum. Emblazoned on the pyramids were symbols (hieroglyphs) giving the structures a magnificent and almost other-worldly appearance!
If you’ve ever been in the desert then you know how the sun can frequently be very bright especially when is reflects off of white surfaces. It’s nothing short of blinding!! Imagine such great structures as the Giza pyramids glowing brilliantly in the desert sun! I bet they could be seen for miles around and the glow of the sun striking the golden capstones even added more to the awe and brilliance.
I don’t know what the pyramids were used for and no one else does either for certain but one thing that IS certain is that they were NOT burial chambers! Maybe they were some sort of power plant generating some sort of energy or maybe not. Maybe they were just an experiment in building conceived by some self-glorifying pharaoh such as Khufu. Or maybe they even had some mundane purpose that no one has ever thought of. Whatever their purpose they were magnificent and their remains are still magnificent even today. And Egypt was not the only place with these mysterious structures as we also find them in Mesoamerica, China, and many other places around the world. Whatever they were used for must have been common knowledge or so many different cultures would not have built them.
The discovery of the new chamber in the Great Pyramid is fantastic! And, I’m sure there are many more discoveries waiting for us in the pyramids …………. and the Sphinx. And speaking of the Sphinx, the Egyptians had a real desire for symmetry as evidenced in their magnificent carvings on their temples and structures. The left side always exactly matches the right side and visa versa. When it comes to the Sphinx some scholars think there may be a second one near the Sphinx we see today but buried deep in the sand. I believe that to be VERY possible. When we find it we may be a bit surprised, however, as it may have a different head than the one we see today. Possibly the head of the Egyptian god Anubis or the head of a lion or ram. The head we see today on the sphinx is not the original head we know.
