We have been led to believe that the Americas were somehow a pristine and untouched land prior to the coming of the Amerindians across the Bering Strait in Alaska but I have never thought this to be true. Personally, I think there were several ancient species in the Americas long before the coming of the Amerindians and I do not believe that every artifact we find in the Americas is Amerindian. In fact, I believe that prehistoric human ancestors were in the Americas and the reason we’ve never found any fossil remains is that no one is looking for them and what has been found has been misidentified as being Amerindian. I think that the Americas have not only been visited but colonized by a wide variety of ancient civilizations at different points in time such as the Chinese, Africans, Polynesians, Egyptians, Phoenicians, and many more. To hold the view that ancient peoples lived in isolation is rather foolish and naive today because it flies in face of the evidence found all over the world. I tend to be in the opposite camp that postulates ancient cultures had regular and long-distance contact with one another regularly. Further, it is my opinion that we have grossly underestimated the ancient peoples of our world including Amerindian cultures which, in fact, created some very high civilizations in the Americas. Our ancestors were not the “savages” that we have been led to believe they were. In fact, when you look at many of their cultures and achievements you come to ask yourself if we might not be de-evolving rather than e-volving.
That said, I want to begin a series on the possibility of ancient Chinese explorers, Africans, and others coming to the Americas long before the coming of Columbus. Columbus didn’t discover anything in my opinion. He simply rediscovered the Americas! The ancient Chinese drew maps and those maps were highly detailed. Their maps clearly show Alaska, Canada, the US, Mexico, Central America, and South America. If they had not reached the Americas and explored them then how would they know these lands existed and how could they have possibly drawn maps fairly accurately depicting these lands? The mere fact that ancient Chinese drew these maps with accurate depictions of the Americas on them is proof that ancient Chinese explorers were once here or perhaps were even here many times and/or established colonies. It is evidence that cannot be ignored and it is evidence that flies in the face of what we’ve been told.
In ancient times the people of China considered themselves to live in the land which was the center of the world and universe. They considered themselves to be the only truly civilized culture on the planet and they considered all other cultures to be barbarians. Besides establishing several great empires, ancient China was an ancient superpower in terms of military might and ancient technology. They built ships that were far larger than anything built by Europeans and these ships were known to be ocean going vessels. Many of them were large “merchant ships” as trade was one of ancient China’s biggests endeavors. It is known that ancient Chinese ships said to southeast Asia, Malaysia, India, southern Arabia, Kenya, Tanzania, etc. And it is know that the Chinese traded with these people on a regular basis. So if they sailed westward then why would they not sail eastward in the direction of the Americas?
Ancient Chinese culture was highly sophisticated. It was a culture in which learning, exploration, discovery, and wisdom were highly valued and sought after. Some very detailed records were kept for thousands of years and some of the old empires of China like that of the Ming Dynasty were unparalleled at the time. Ancient Chinese scientists and physicians were among some of the greatests to have ever lived. Their inventions and discoveries are nothing short of astounding even today.
So, let me ask again, since the Chinese sailed thousands of miles westward then why wouldn’t they sail and explore thousands of miles eastward? Why wouldn’t they at least explore North, Central, and South America? I think they did and I think that at various times they even established colonies in the Americas. But, that’s not all because I think the Chinese may have brought fellow explorers from other lands as far away as Africa with them!
In this series I’m going to look at some of the strongest archaeological and historical evidence for the Chinese discovery of the Americas. Let us just say for now that what we thought, may turn out to be what was not, and what we thought was not, may well turn out to be what actually was. So much of our history we have been told is wrong and some of it is outright lies and the anthropological, archaeological, and historical evidence often supports such a notion. It’s time to look at the evidence and the lack of evidence and determine the truth about our ancestors! And that is just what we are going to do in this series.
